Your transportation will depart Mérida at 3:00 pm and arrive at your hotel in Chichén Itzá by 5:00 pm. After you settle in, you can choose to join us for a tour of the hacienda and grand gardens or book a treatment in the award-winning spa (at an extra cost). Next, prepare to delight in a unique culinary experience that combines Mayan flavors, Yucatecan dishes, and locally grown organic ingredients! After dinner, you can retire to your room for a night of good sleep in anticipation of your early morning rise.
You will wake up with the sun and meet your local Chichén Itzá archaeological guide at 6:00 am at the private entrance through your hotel into the 8th World Wonder. After enjoying this rare opportunity to wander the world-famous Chichén Itzá before the crowds arrive, you will continue on your adventures to a private, breathtaking cenote for a refreshing swim and a moment to sit still with nature.
The nature-dense area makes the drive brilliant for bird watching and flora observation. Finally, you will arrive at a Mayan community just south of Chichén Itzá for a tour and lunch with a local modern-day Maya family. This will be a good place to buy local, hand-made pieces and home goods as gifts or for yourself. Once you’ve finished with lunch and shopping, you will start the two-hour journey back to Mérida. The perfect time for a siesta!

What to know: You will depart Mérida at 3:00 pm on day one, and you will return to Mérida by 3:00 pm the following afternoon. Depending on the weather and the habits of wildlife, logistics may be adjusted slightly. The weather can be very humid, and the sun is powerful. Mosquitoes are a possibility. Wear lightweight, long sleeves/pants for ultimate protection. Water shoes with a good tread are best for uneven terrains and water activities. The price of your hotel room is based on double occupancy.
