The New Normal: Life During COVID19

We finally have the time to start and finish the DIY home projects that have been adding up on our to-do lists, maybe for years!

Or perhaps you are like me and have been inspired by our current situation to start new projects. I am learning to grow food, and I have started a compost pile!!

Being food independent today will prove to be the wealth of tomorrow. Separating our organic kitchen waste from general waste is super important in our quest to combat climate change. Methane gas, the worst greenhouse gas (or GHG), is produced when organic waste breaks down with other materials such as plastic. However, if we make compost piles with our kitchen scraps and yard trimming, Mother Nature will give us the nutrient-rich soil that we need to grow our food in return! Can you see the cycle?

P.S. If you live in a city that collects yard trimmings in a separate bin, you can dump your kitchen scraps there, or if you live in a rural area, you can simply dig a hole and bury it. For more information about composting or growing food, send me a message, and I will give you more information.

Please share with us your completed, current, and maybe some ideas that you have for your next project.

Inquiring, and quarantined minds want to know!

P.S. During this time of quarantine, it is more vital than ever that we get our daily dose of nature. Keep your distance from others but step outside, feel the breeze (or freeze), listen for the birds, smell the air, go for a nature discovery walk if that is possible or sit under a tree with a good book and put your bare feet on the earth.
