Can you believe this statistic?

It made me say, “whoa,” but I’m not surprised that 1 in 4 women have prescriptions for antidepressant medications and 1 in 2 women suffer in silence without support. Do you suffer from anxiety/panic attacks, stress, prolonged sadness, depression, OCD, or weird body aches/illnesses? Don’t ignore the signs. Read on.

We know the expectations and standards for women are unrealistic, not to mention unjust. It’s impossible to live up to others’ ideals, And if you do manage to do it all perfectly, it will be to the detriment of your health. It will mean that you are not taking enough personal care time. Staying healthy should be your number one concern because good health is your first line of defense against everything else.

We do need medicine, but it doesn’t always come in pill form.

Holistic health includes three essential elements, the mind, body, and spirit, and you must take special care of each of them. If one is outta whack, the whole system suffers. Even if you don’t believe in juju magic or you’re an atheist, these 3 elements still explain what it means to be a balanced human alive at this moment on Planet Earth.

Here are some alternative medications to try:

Mind: time in nature, healthy diet, regular meditation, breathwork practice, regular exercise routine, quality time with dear friends/family, community connections, joining a group, volunteering, vacations, and a job you love. Less digital time, more time doing things you love in person.

Body: time in nature, healthy diet sans chemicals, regular exercise routine, yoga/stretching, massage, regular temazcal ceremony (or sauna), personal care- getting your hair done makes you feel like a new person. With your personal care products, choose the brands with fewer chemicals. One hint: If it has a scent or additives, that’s a chemical.

Spirit: time in nature, altar-building and nurturing, prayer, meditation, and ceremony. Spirituality is non-denominational. All faiths and beliefs are welcome. The objective is to find the practice(s) that helps you to sleep at night.

You might notice some overlapping of meds, but you can’t overdose, and there are no adverse side effects; however, they can be habit-forming. Yes, please!

DISCLAIMER** I took pharmaceutical medications for anxiety and panic attacks on and off for 20+ years until I found another way. If you find yourself in this statistic trust, there is no judgment, and I understand where you are. I’ve got nothing but love and a big hug or space if that’s what you need. I’m not a doctor, so please don’t stop taking the medicines prescribed by your doctor but do check to see if you are taking the alternative medicines I recommend above. Please reach out if you need someone to talk to.

Know that there is hope, and you are not alone. 🤗🤗🤗
